Let Us Do it For You!
CHOOSING—Once you know you need new flooring, come on in and we’ll take it from there! Before you settle on anything, talk to us about what you’re looking for. Have some idea of what your budget and time-frame are—we have some tips and worksheets in each of the “How To” areas under the product sections. Then, take some loaner samples home and live with them for a week or so. See how the colors work for you, how the textures feel. Bring ’em back and try some more. Don’t rush into it!
MEASURING—For full area carpeting, we prefer to do the measurements. Not that we don’t like having lots of remnants, but... Measuring for carpeting can be particularly tricky and we know the tricks of the trade, so let us do it and save headaches, time, and money. Estimating how much wood or tile will be needed can be frustrating too, so again, we’d rather do it for you—then there’s no one to blame but us! There’s no charge for coming out to measure, so just put your feet up by the fire or pool and relax. Once we know how much footage is needed, then you can go into high-gear sorting through the options.
INSTALLING—Some things are easy to install: scatter rugs, light bulbs... Other things are easy if you are a somewhat handy do-it-yourselfer. Still others are best left to the pros.
Now, we know all the ads and commercials make it look like a breeze to lay a new laminate floor, but we also know it just isn’t quite so. We’ll tell you honestly if your flooring choice is a good DIY project and if it’s not, we can provide the professionals to do it, at a price that won’t break the bank. We want you to come back, after all.
If you have old carpeting or flooring to remove, we can handle that—and haul it away for you, too. Our installers will make sure you have a good underlayment and any substrate repairs that are needed will be pointed out so you or they can make the repairs. We’ll move the furniture, remove baseboards & door casings (you knew they had to come off, right?)—and when we’re done we’ll put it all back together again.
Do-It-Yourself—If you choose this route, we can help you put together a list of the tools/glues/whatevers you’ll need to handle the job, and point you to the best place to get it all, if you need pointing. And, we may even have some loaner tools available (though they do have a habit of wandering). If you get stuck, we’re here for advice or action, whatever you need!
SPECIAL ORDERS—Buying from our in-stock inventory is the cheapest way to go. It also ensures there is sufficient material for matching, should more be needed. However, sometimes it’s necessary to order something special and when that’s the case, it’s not a problem. Particulary for the niche products like rubber flooring (yes, you could probably put it on walls, too) that don’t make sense to stock. Delivery is typically fairly speedy.
